Terms and Conditions

You must agree to the following terms and conditions before booking the community centre.

1. Music and Dancing

The WCCA hall does not have a Public Performance License. Anyone using music must ascertain whether they need such a license and be able to show proof of that license on request. Any music allowed will be subject to the planning conditions on the building regarding noise levels i.e. 70 decibels at the boundaries and must finish by11.30pm. Discos are not permitted.

2. Articles fastened to walls etc

No articles or sticky tape of any kind may be fastened to the floors walls, windows or doors etc. without prior permission from the Committee.

3. Hours of use

Access to the premises before the hiring may only be obtained by prior arrangement. The Hirer must ensure that the premises are vacated not later than the closing time arranged when making the booking. Changes of the hours of a booking must be agreed by the Booking Agent.

4. Good order and security

The Association reserves the right to enter the premises at any time, and, if necessary, to demand that music or any other noise or activity is either reduced or stopped. The Hirer shall ensure that the premises are kept in a clean and tidy condition throughout the period of hire and the Hirer shall be responsible for leaving the premises securely locked and fastened at the end of each hiring, including all external doors and windows thereof. All lights, heating and water must be turned off when the premises are vacated. No child under the age of 10 should be permitted into the kitchen.

5. Electricity

(a) No additional lighting or extension from existing electrical light fittings shall be used without previous consultation with the Committee’s Agent and then upon such conditions as the Agent may impose.

(b) The electrical equipment at the Centre has been PAT tested. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that any electrical equipment which is brought to the Centre has been similarly checked. The Trustees will not accept responsibility for any injury or damaged caused by electrical equipment brought into the centre.

6. Fire Exits

The Hirer shall ensure, at the commencement of the hiring that the fire emergency exit doors can be opened easily and the access to the emergency exits is kept clear throughout the hiring. Fire appliances must not be removed or tampered with.

7. Responsibility for loss, damage or injury

The Hirer is solely responsible for, and shall make good, all damage to the premises(and adjacent premises) and to any property belonging to the premises or brought into the premises by the Hirer or any other person during the hiring or while persons are entering or leaving the premises pursuant to the hire, however and by whomsoever caused. The Hirer shall further indemnify the Committee against any claim which may arise out of the hiring or which may be made by any person resorting to the premises during the hiring in respect of any loss, damage or injury to persons or property, howsoever caused.

8. Removal of Hirer’s Property

All property and equipment belonging to the Hirer shall be removed from the premises at the termination of the hire, unless prior arrangement has been made for the property /equipment to be stored within the premises when cupboards provided for such purposes must be used. The Hirer shall indemnify the Committee from any responsibility for the safe keeping of such property while it is so stored.

9. Cancellation

Four weeks written notice of cancellation by either side must be given. If the Hirer fails to give such notice the Committee reserves the right to charge the full hiring charge.

10. Alternative Accommodation

The Committee reserves the right, in exceptional circumstances to cancel bookings at whatever notice is possible. In such circumstances, every endeavour shall be made to assist Hirer in finding alternative accommodation and the Hirer shall be entitled to a refund of any charges already paid but to no other payment by way of damages or otherwise.
